Daily Scripture Reading: 2 Colossians 9:8 KJV
2 Corinthians 9:8 KJV
(8) And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Today’s Devotional Is GRACE ABOUNDING KJV
God is known for His abundance! Take a walk on a spring morning and admire the beautiful flowers He has planted in the woods.
The prodigality of His thought, power, and thought, evident in the myriads of daisies, buttercups, primroses, and cowslips. This vast carpeting of earth’s nakedness can be found in the heavens, however! The sky is a place where depth can be seen beyond the depth of the earth, lit and inlaid by constellations. God’s creation is so many!
What can we say about His Grace? His Joy is unimaginable, His Peace surpasses understanding, His Love is beyond comprehension! Think of God with great reverence. He holds the ocean depths in his hollow hand and weighs the mountains in His scales. Consider the bank of flowers. Then, lay down and observe their abundance. Next, use a telescope to look up at the sky and try to spot the stars. Finally, count the shells along the shoreline and number the sand grains. Compare the infinite map of God’s creation with your own needs, then recall that God loves you infinitely. He loves you and will deliver you. Because you know His Name, He will lift you up. All the resources of eternity, infinity, and all His grace are available to you. He can make every grace abound towards you so that you can be abound in all good works.
This is an amazing text! It has many universals. All Grace Always! All sufficiency! All things! God abounds to us so that we can abound. Abound could be translated as “to flow over” or “to pour over.” “My cup runneth over.” Our Lord said, “I am here that they might live, and have it overflowingly.” (Joh_10,10; Rom_5,20).
Remember that God doesn’t pour in unless you pour out. We can only be filled with Christ’s Presence and Grace in our hearts if we give ourselves to others.
PRAYER for Today
Please grant me grace, Lord, to see beauty in everyday life and to know that Thou art just as near as I was when I first saw Thee. AMEN.
