Ephesians 5:15-16 KJV
(15) See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
(16) Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Today’s Devotional Is TIME USE CAREFULLY
GOD WANTES each person’s full development. There are exceptions. In some cases, the lessons and discipline of living are compressed into a short time span and the soul is summoned back to the Presence-chamber. However, every human life is meant to touch all the notes in life’s orchestra. It will be born or died, it will weep or laugh and will get or lose. These times are set by God. Do not try to anticipate or force the pace. Wait for the Lord’s timing. All things will be for your good and His glory in due time. Speak to Him, “All my times are in Thy hands.”
The seasons and times that follow them are very swift. Milton’s glorious sonnet, The Flight of Time, addresses her, calling on the leaden-stepping hour, referring to swing of the pendulum. As we look back at our lives, it will appear that each experience was just for a brief moment and then vanished forever. The cobbler was a man who thought the pendulum in his clock would swing left and right. For ever–where For ever–where He stood up to stop the questioner but discovered that he hadn’t answered the question. He could not find rest until he was able to face and answer the eternal question on his knees.
It is essential that we are alert for every hour. Our Lord said, “Mine hour has not yet come.” He waited patiently to hear the hours strike in heaven and then he drew the strength necessary to meet its demands. The Father holds each season and every time. He opens and shuts all doors; he shuts all windows and opens all others. The necessary supplies of wisdom, grace and power are found in the same hand. The strength is as important as the time. It is not possible to be strong in times of sorrow, trial, temptation, and bereavement without having the right supplies. Grab what He has given you and use it to help you play the role that is required.
