Daily Scripture Reading: Ephesians 3:17-19 KJV
Ephesians 3:17-19 KJV
(17) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
(18) May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
(19) And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Today’s Devotional Is GOD’S LOVE: THE DIMENSIONS
DIMENSIONS OF the Love of Christ! It is as broad as the human race, “for God so loved all the world”. The length of God’s love has no beginning or end date, and will never have any. God is Love; it continues forever, unchanging, unchangeable, and a perpetual present tense. Its height is as high as the Flood, which topped all mountains. So Love covers our most serious sins. Its height is equal to the heavens above the earth. Its depth is Christ our Lord, who dwelt in the lowest place before ascending to the highest. He touched the bottomless pits of sin, misery, sorrow, and need. No matter how low you fall or how low your lot is, His everlasting arms are always there for you.
When the Apostle speaks by hyperbole, he prays for us to be able to know the Christ-surpassing love. It is impossible to measure Christ’s love but we can experience it. The only way to truly know Christ’s love is to start to show it. The emotionalist who is easily affected and influenced by the senses does not know it. But the soul that seeks to love Christ knows it. You will experience Christ’s love in you expanding, deepening, deepening, and heightening your knowledge of the love of Christ.
You say that “there are people in your life who I cannot love.” You can’t love everyone, but love is different from emotion or feeling love. Although you may not feel love immediately, it is possible to choose to channel Christ’s love. Christ is in me and I can love. It seems unreasonable to expect that all of this should be achieved in us and in others. Because God is already working within us through His Holy Spirit and is capable of doing infinitely more than our highest thoughts or requests. Ask for your furthest and think highest. The Divine Love is always infinitely ahead.
PRAYER for Today
We are grateful to Thee, O God for the infinite love that Thou hast shown us in Jesus Christ. We cannot measure its heights and its depths, as well as its breadths or lengths. Teach us, with all saints, to love more because we know more. AMEN.
