Exodus 32:26 Devotional On TAKE SIDES

Daily Scripture Reading: Exodus 32:26 KJV

Exodus 32:26 KJV
(26)ย  Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

1 Kings 18:21 KJV
(21)ย  And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Today’s Devotional Is TAKE SIDES

MOSES and Elijah both uttered the exact same call that is being repeated to every new generation. We are challenged by the Divine Voice- Are you for me or against me? As soon as our minds can think for themselves, we are confronted with the challenge of God’s voice. What side will thou choose? The challenge comes from the lips of our Lord, and it is a challenge that we must face. “He who is not with me is against me,”

How long will you wait to choose between two views? One side must prevail over the other. The House of Commons must divide when the bell rings. Man must decide which side he will choose! If Jehovah or If Baal, we cannot be neutral without being stultified.

Who is then willing to take sides and come out to Christ without being in the camp? (Heb_13:13). To be on the Lordโ€™s side means to recognize Him as both our King and Savior. It is to give Him our love, reverence, obedience and devotion. It means to give up all comforts and resorts to our works and habits and to work for the good of His will and character. This is what the Saviour asks us to do. To be completely devoted to God, to give Him all we can, to choose His cause and to find the beginning and end, the first and the last, in Him, is what we are called to do.

Jesus Christ has an unimpeachable, absolute right over us. He is Creator. He “it is He who hath made us”; Benefactor. This is not only in the realms of temporal, but also in the realms of spiritual existence. He is Redeemer.

Our decision demands declaration. Christ won’t allow His disciples to live in secret. There are many temptations to compromise in these days, which make it difficult for us to stand with Him. In that great day, He’ll take our side and recognize us before His Father as well as the Holy Angels.

PRAYER for Today

We acknowledge Thy control over us, O Lord; our body, soul, and life all belong to Thee. We ask that they may be consecrated to Thee and used in Thy service. AMEN.
