Daily Scripture Reading: Genesis 18:14 KJV
Genesis 18:14 KJV
(14) Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
Today’s Devotional Is GOD’S RESOURCES
There is no doubt about the identification of the three guests who appeared suddenly before Abraham’s tent-door. It is stated that “Jehovah appeared to him.” Our Lord was anticipating His Incarnation. He arrived incognito and His delights were with the men of men (Pro_8.31). During His earthly existence, He was fond of the homes and lives of men. He stayed with Peter and Zacchaeus and the home that Mary loved and Martha used. Two of His disciples stayed with Him in the village inn after His resurrection. So He will come to your heart and mine. Even though He is the High and Lofty One who dwells in Eternity and He will beg for admission, He will still plead with us to share our joy (Rev_3.20). However, He is often disguised as a wandering man, hungry, and thirsty. Remember Mat_25.40. Let us “run to Him.”
God is not a man’s debtor. He always pays His lodging, hence Sarah’s promise! The Lord was not too difficult for her to laugh at. This is one of God’s unanswered question. It has been a constant companion for the human conscience throughout history. Let us turn our eyes from the problems imposed on us by nature to the One who holds the oceans in His hollow hand. We can then stand beside Him on the mountainside and plead for Sodom. God will continue to draw us in with His infinite power, until our faith is exhausted, He will do more than we ever thought or asked for.
PRAYER for Today
Now, unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all we ask or think, according the power that works in us. His glory be in the church through Christ Jesus throughout all ages and without end. AMEN.
