Daily Scripture Reading: Genesis 8:1 KJV
Genesis 8:1 KJV
(1) And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;
Today’s Devotional Is THE SOUL’S VENTURE
It is very beneficial to think about these words. They give the assurance that God will not only take care of animals and birds, as we can see from Deu_25;4; Psa_104;11-22; Jon_4/11; Mat_6.26; but also that He will care more for us, His children. You may feel like Noah and his family. You may find it as difficult to free yourself from your situation as Noah did. It may be your responsibility to provide for those in dire need. While your supplies may be decreasing, God will remember you despite the loss of water and dark clouds. God is just like a mother who cannot forget her child.
The Ark was brought to a halt on the Ararat’s lower slopes on the seventeenth of the seventh month. The waters were so low that Noah, who had already reaped the harvest, left the Ark in time to sow the next year. Trust your Heavenly Father with your seasons and times. When He is trusted, life becomes a beautiful mosaic of His loving care and forethought.
Avoid raven-like thoughts. These thoughts are evil-feeding and restless. Instead, cultivate gentle, gentle, and pure thoughts. Now, He who said “Come in” will say “Go forth!” Next, build an altar for self-sacrifice.
PRAYER for Today
Heavenly Father, help me to see beyond the cloud and toward Thy rainbow. Not on what Thou took or withheld but on what Thou left. AMEN.
