(23) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Today’s Devotional Is FRUIT OF SPIRIT FAITH
FAITH is an attribute of the heart and not of the head. It is intuitive and responsive to its initial promptings. It is impossible for men to believe. You will lose faith if you think, talk, or reason about Faith too much. It’s like Love, in that it disappears when you use the dissection knife to examine it. You only have the fading relics of what once was a beautiful thing and a joy forever. Faith can be cultivated and grown if you focus your heart and mind on any object that is worthy of it.
There are two types of objectives in faith: first, a person and then a statement. Faith is when we feel drawn to someone so that we can trust Him with our souls, our destiny, and our most valuable possessions.
A statement that appeals to our moral sense may attract us. It might be consistent with our conscience’s decisions. Or, perhaps it is the utterance in which we have complete faith. We agree with that statement and we trust it. It is a fact that it attests to. It is as certain as if we could attest it with our senses of sight and hearing or touch. Faith is also that. “Faith can be described as a solid assurance of what we hope for and a conviction about the reality of the unseeable” (Heb_11,1). Weymouth).
This faith is different from “the faith once given to the saints.” The first is the one that accepts and the other is the one that seeks to get; the latter is the one that is to be accepted.
Faith is the foundation of faithfulness. Faith is trusting in someone else; faithfulness shows that you are trustworthy. It is a great price to have a faithful and trustworthy soul. Meditation on God’s absolute trustworthiness is a great way to increase faith. “Blessed are those who trust in Him.
