Daily Scripture Reading: Hebrews 13:5 KJV
Hebrews 13:5 KJV
(5) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Today’s Devotional Is OUR RESOURCES
Be content with what you have, for God has promised to never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). This means that there is an undeveloped power within you, waiting to be called upon. You may wish for more money, brains, or influence, but God says that you already have the qualities that the world needs. You just need to use them and be content with what you have.
Remember that Moses had only a rod, but with God’s power, it opened the Red Sea. David had only five pebbles, but with God’s help, he defeated Goliath. The poor widow had only a little pot of oil, but with God, it paid all her debts. The boy had only five loaves and two fish, but with Jesus, they fed thousands.
Don’t be covetous or hoard your resources. Instead, be generous and trust in God. The most glorious deeds in the world have not been done by wealthy men, but by those who have human love and God’s help. So be strong, content, and courageous. Remember that the Lord is your helper, and you need not fear anything.
Prayer For Today
Let us pray: “Dear Jesus, we thank you for promising to never leave us or forsake us. Help us to be content with what we have and to trust in your power to do great things with the resources we have. Give us the strength to be generous and loving to others, and to have the courage to face life’s challenges with you by our side. Amen.”
