Daily Scripture Reading: Isaiah 30:19
Isaiah 30:19 (KJV)
19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.
Today’s Devotional Is GOD’S REPONSE TO OUR CRY
This chapter’s last section ( Isa 30:27–33) explains the arrival of Sennacherib’s troops. They are horrible, but there was an underlying sense that they were created with God. “Behold, the Name of God cometh from far.” The speed of the advance can be compared to a thunder storm, then to a torrential downpour. Isa 28 is the final check. It is like when a wild animal gets tamed and is brought to its knees. The enemy would disappear now, and the land would be ploughed again for seeding.
These words are so tender and kind to people in distress and pain. Keep your spirits up, God is still gracious! These sweet promises are yours to keep and you can ask for the blessings that will be matched in your life.
PRAYER for Today
We, Father, realize that we need to be disciplined if we stop walking in Thy faith or fear. We ask that you make us more sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s voice and listen to it. AMEN
