Daily Scripture Reading: Isaiah 40:31 KJV
Isaiah 40:31 KJV
(31) But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Today’s Devotional Is Renewing Our Strength
Isaiah 40:31 says, “Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” If you’re feeling discouraged, exhausted, and ready to give up, know that you’re not alone. But Isaiah reminds us that God is not tired, even if we are. Instead of trying to change our environment, we need to change our courage, our endurance, and our assurance of victory. When we do this, we’ll find the strength to soar like eagles, run without getting weary, and walk without growing faint.
Sometimes we try to renew our strength through sermons, services, and conventions that reignite our passion for a short time, but eventually, we start to feel discouraged again. To truly change our strength, we need to turn to Jesus and wait on Him. We need to stop looking back and start looking forward, up, and out. Instead of focusing on our own hearts, we need to focus on Jesus, who is always near us through the Holy Spirit.
Prayer For Today
Let’s claim the promise of Isaiah 40:31 and wait upon the Lord to renew our strength. Despite the hindrances and difficulties of life, we can soar, run, and walk with the assurance of victory. May God’s grace and mercy help us finish our race with joy and receive the crown of life. Amen.
