Daily Scripture Reading: Isaiah 52:1 KJV
Isaiah 52:1 KJV
(1) Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.
Today’s Devotional Is BEAUTIFUL GARDMENTS
PRACTICE strength. It is not necessary to buy it or create it through prayers and resolutions. We just need to put it on. We must be strong and powerful as we rise in the morning and face the challenges of daily life. He is waiting to give us all the power according to His glory. Don’t just pray for help and support, but get the full armor of God. “The Lord is my strength, of whom shall i be afraid?”
Wear beautiful clothes. The bridegroom or bride adorned with jewels is the emblem of the Christian life. Or a garden full of beautiful flowers (Isa_61.10-11). Not only are we to do the right things but also to do them beautifully. The bloom of the soul is compassion, kindness and humility. We must reflect the beauty of God our Lord.
These beautiful robes cannot be made by us, nor can we make them from our own designs. But they are all provided for us by Christ, who is “made unto you Wisdom, Righteousness Sanctification and Redemption.” We must wake up from our sleep and take off the darkness’s work, so let us put on the Lord Jesus Christ who is the armor of Light.
PRAYER for Today
Lord of Love and Power! I trust in Thine all-powerful strength and Thine infinite goodness and come to You to ask for what I lack. Even that grace which will help me to be and do as Thou willst. I trust Thee, who is my everlasting strength. To be my Helper, carry me beyond my own strength and make all I think, speak and do acceptable in Thy sight through Jesus Christ. AMEN.
