John 15:16 Devotional On AMBASSADORS OF CHRIST

Daily Scripture Reading: John 15:16 KJV

John 15:16 KJV
(16)  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Today’s Devotional Is AMBASSADORS OF CHRIST

It is a beautiful thing to hear these words spoken by our Lord. This is especially true when we recall what the Devil said about Him at the beginning His ministry (Luk_4;6). The prince of this world had apparently taken the sceptre. Our Lord is the supreme being in heaven and on earth. He is the ruler of the winds and the waves, the natural world and its laws and elements, the gold mines and the harvest fields, and the minds and souls all those who have been bought by His precious blood. Our obedience to His Command would be greatly facilitated if we understood that all of the world is His creation and redemption and that we are in His domain wherever we travel.

Notice how Christ insists on teaching disciples to follow all His commands (Mat_28.20). The Apostles were chosen by Christ to receive His commands. They would not be expected to obey them, but they would impress them on others. Obeyance is the law of spiritual growth, and blessings. First, let us resolve to follow the Master’s instructions; second, let us resolve to help others do the same. When the task seems overwhelming, remember that God is always with us, no matter how difficult it may seem.

The crux of Christian life is this: How much will you follow Christ? You can’t refuse Christ, and He will not do anything for you. If you are willing to follow His lead, there are no limits to the blessings and usefulness that will result (Gen_18.18-19). This is how we live. We must trust Him and allow His words to dwell in us through meditation and prayer. This is when obedience becomes a fruitful, joyful life and not a laborious task.

PRAYER for Today

We need to be faithful to Thy call and to recognize Thy presence at all times. May we realize that every place is a temple and every duty is a service. We are all part of Thy great host who obey Thy commands, listening to Thy voice. AMEN.
