Daily Scripture Reading: John 19:41 KJV
John 19:41 KJV
(41) Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.
Today’s Devotional Is THE GARDEN OF CROSS
It was in a Garden where Paradise was lost. But in a garden it was found! Sweet spring flowers waved their incense cups around the Cross. It was their Creator’s thought that they were dying to redeem man.
Nature continues her unbroken cycle despite all the pain and suffering of this human world. Nature’s unbroken cycle of beauty continues through every day of human pain. Spring is green with summer, summer is full of glory and autumn is full with gold. Sometimes, her unchanging order can almost drive men mad. She seems to have no empathy for man’s struggle for survival. It is, however, better! While our tears, strife, and storms are temporary, the order of creation will form the foundation of the “new heavens and earth” for the which we wait. Yes, there were flowers at Christ’s Cross. They have bloomed at every cross since!
A garden will grow where there is a Cross. The cross must be carried properly. We must be compassionate for others and not worry about ourselves. Even though the cup is offered by a Judas, we must accept it from the Father. We cannot suffer in silence. It is not possible for anyone to speak out about the pain they have suffered in order to save another person. You can suffer for others in your Gethsemane garden, and then, when you are crucified, look for a garden in bloom. In your heart, create a Calvary! Let the cross be a splint of the Cross of your Savior! Bring there your self-love and ambitions, as well as your vagrant, selfish thoughts. Your self-life, proud and vain, must be fastened to the Cross of Jesus Christ and allowed to remain there. You will see a profusion the sweetest and rarest flowers in the garden of who you are. Even if the world rejects you, if your life is lonely, you might find that Jesus, the Lord Jesus, will still walk in your garden in the cool day like He did in Paradise.
PRAYER for Today
God has planted your heart in a garden.
To make your life work.
One day, He will come to pick His flowers.
So mind you keep your garden weeded.
