Today’s Devotional Is Obeying the Inner Voice of Christ: The Water of Life Turned to Wine
Reflection:
The Bible teaches us to heed the voice of Jesus and obey His commands. In the Gospel of John, we see an example of this when Jesus commands the servants to fill the waterpots with water. The servants obeyed, and Jesus turned the water into wine. This miracle reminds us that obedience to Jesus can lead to unexpected blessings.
When Jesus speaks to us, we should obey without hesitation. His commands may not always make sense to us, but we should trust in His wisdom. Obedience to Jesus may require us to make sacrifices or step out of our comfort zones, but we should respond with a joyful and willing heart.
Even small acts of obedience can have a profound impact. Whether it’s teaching a Sunday school class or visiting a sick friend, we should give our all to the task at hand. We should fill our “waterpots” to the brim, knowing that Jesus can turn our efforts into something extraordinary.
When we obey Jesus, we enter into a partnership with Him. He empowers us to do His work, and we get to witness His miracles firsthand. As we serve others, we may not always see the results we hope for, but we can trust that Jesus is at work behind the scenes. Like the servants who filled the waterpots, we may be surprised by the amazing things that Jesus can do through our obedience.
Prayer For Today
Let us pray for the strength and courage to obey Jesus in all things. May we be faithful in the small tasks and trust Him to turn our efforts into something beautiful. Amen.
