Daily Scripture Reading: Malachi 3:3 KJV
Malachi 3:3 KJV
(3) And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
Today’s Devotional Is THE REFINER’S FIRE
It is impossible to bear the pain of apparent hopelessness.
According to them, what can break a convict’s spirit in prison is to make him carry stones from one end of the prison to another. We should not see the trials of life in terms of punishments. All penalty was paid by our Lord. They are meant to eradicate the weeds of our natures. Christ views us in light of our eternal needs, which only He can determine. We would understand the significance of Christ’s dealings with us if we knew the sphere in which we were to fulfill in the other realm. The Refiner has a purpose, which is not known by those who are beside Him. Therefore, they cannot judge the process He uses.
Believe that Christ has a plan for your life. Be patient, He loves you! If He didn’t know it was worth the effort, He wouldn’t take on so much. We don’t cut brambles or put common stones in the crucible, nor do we plough sea-sands. You need to be able to perform a special service. Christ is there year after year as the Refiner so that you do not miss anything.
Keep talking to the Refiner while the Fire is still hot. These words are a reminder: “He will sit as a Purifier and Refiner of silver.” This thought is especially suitable for people who are unable to make long prayers but can still talk to Christ while He sits beside them. Nicholas Hermann tells us how he was unable to concentrate on long prayer and decided to have constant conversations with Christ. Talk to Him in the midst your daily struggles. He listens to your prayers and hears them. Talk to Christ about your troubles, sorrows and anxieties. Be His confidant in your happiness and joy! Talking to Him about everything makes Him more real!
PRAYER for Today
Let the Fire of Thy love consume me of all my sinful desires of flesh and mind so that I may abide in Jesus Christ, my Lord, and seek the things He holds at Thy right side. AMEN.
