Matthew 20:7 Devotional On GOD’S ALL-HANDED GOODNESS

(7)  They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.

Today’s Devotional Is GOD’S ALL-HANDED GOODNESS

Yes, God is good. Although our eye might be blinded by the thick earth-sphere atmosphere, our vision is not blocked by the will of God. God is so good that He will pay full wages to those who would be happy to serve others, if they only had the chance. They waited all day for their chance but the sun was slowly creeping from horizon to sky and they never got it. Even if they did get their chance, it was only for a short time. Their reward will still be counted for their service, as well as for what they would do if called in the early morning.

This is not God’s way of dealing, but the manner in which men behave. He gives “His own” to all labourers who are faithful to their work, no matter how long or short the hours. “His own!” His Love! His Joy! His complete satisfaction!

All who are admitted to this inner circle must prepare to drink from His cup and be baptized with His baptism. The lowest bond-slave servitors will be the ones who will sit on His right and left thrones in glory. Jesus’ followers are not to be ministered too much. They must be open to following their Lord, even if it means giving up their lives. They should be like their Master, who when on the way to redeem mankind was willing to stop and help two blind beggars (Mat_20.34).

PRAYER for Today

O Son of God, bring Thy gentleness into the hearts of all people, Thy compassion touch into our hands, Thy tenderness to human pain and need into our cold and callous senses. AMEN.
