Daily Scripture Reading: Psalms 25:4 KJV

Psalms 25:4 KJV
(4)  Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Micah 4:2 KJV
(2)  And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Today’s Devotional Is STEP INTO GOD’S WAYS and PATHS

There is a distinct difference between a Way or a Path. The one is full of the bustle and bustle of life, while the other is quiet and unexplored. The one is filled with the noise and traffic of the world, while the other is mainly walked by individuals, as it is too narrow and quiet to be used by others. It is a comforting thought to know that God has both paths and ways.

God’s Ways refer to the great principles upon which He acts, the mighty thoroughfares that lead to Creation, Providence and Revelation, Human History and the final Judgment. These His goings-forth are eternal, and have been since the beginning. They are the passion of the most noble and pure natures. Moses asked God to show him His ways so that he could know Him. God granted Moses’ request. Moses was made aware of His Ways but Israel only His Acts. We all need to be able to understand God’s Ways, particularly in this time of great change. Only then can we enter His rest. The Old and New Testaments repeat the same warning: “They shall not enter My rest, because [they] have not known My paths” (Psa_95.11; Heb_3.10). When we are able to see the troubled world calmly, it is possible to look at it from a position of safety. This is when we know Christ’s divine program for gathering all things in Him. We also can walk with Him who the Way to God (Joh_14.6).

The Paths of God may be used to refer to His intimate dealings with an individual who, through sickness or the care of others or by lonely duty, is removed from the normal worship of the Church and cut off from Christian fellowship and ministry. All of these people can expect and count on the saving grace that will be provided by God’s private communications.

God is faithful to those who trust Him completely. He is always on time. All His Paths are mercy and truth. Believe that He is sending you a secret path to show His mercy and grace so that you can help those in need.

PRAYER for Today

As I walk out on the untrodden path of this month, Lord, please be with me. It may bring me joy or sorrow, temptation or service. But I am humbled to give myself and my path to Thee. Do the best I can for Thy glory. AMEN.
