Daily Scripture Reading: Psalms 63:8
Psalm 63:8 KJV
(8) My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
Today’s Devotional Is THE GROWTH OF THE SOUL
This Psalm contains three notes that signify the stages of the soul’s growth. They are “My soul thirsteth after Thee”, “My soul shall be satisfied” and “My soul follows hard after Thee.” It is possible to be in a spiritual desert, the dark night for the soul, or the season of depression and dryness that are all too common. Sometimes, such as Elijah’s death request or John’s despairing question to Christ in prison, this is due to mental or physical overtraining. In such cases, we should not hesitate to call God “my God.” You cannot be separated from His eternal Love. It may be hard to believe in His everlasting Love, but it is possible. Keep blessing Him as long as possible and keep your hands open for prayer.
We can’t be content with what we have achieved. God is always moving forward! Follow Him closely.
PRAYER for Today
Lord, whether I live or die, I will be Thine. Draw me closer to Thee each day, so that I am filled with Thy love and able to see Thee face-to-face. AMEN.
