Daily Scripture Reading: Revelation 1:5-6 KJV
Revelation 1:5-6 KJV
(5)ย And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
(6)ย And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Today’s Devotional Is LOVED AND LOOSE
Whatever else the Blood of Christ might mean, it is certain that Christ views our sins as of great gravity. It is not a minor problem that can be treated with diet and exercise. It is perilous and deep-seated.
This fundamental fact is inherent in human consciousness and no religion can ignore it. It is not destined for permanence. It is not enough to say that sin can be eliminated with good deeds, or that God is good and will not be harsh on you. The most radical and drastic religious belief that deals with sin is the one that will appeal to the most people. It is because Jesus Christ hasn’t taken sin lightly and has made it easy for men to be freed by His blood that He is enthroned forever.
So He speaks to sin-laden souls, deeply aware of their heavy binding chains, and sighing for the freedom of the sons God. This forgiveness and loosing are for you. Christ was the Alpha and He is now the Omega. He is the same today as in the past. All He did for the first believers in Himself, He will do for us. We can only claim it by humble penitence, faith, and obedience. He loveth us! He bought us for Himself with His precious blood, and not with corruptible items like silver or gold. He releases us from the bonds of cancelled sin and breaks the power of it. We are now free from the curse of cancelled sin. Let us lift ourselves up and strive to glorify God with upright conversation and walking; to rule in this life through Christ Jesus (Rom_5 :17).
PRAYER for Today
My Lord and Savior, most holy and charming, have you freed me from my sins? I gladly accept the gift of redemption that Thou hast bought, and the freedom from guilt and power associated with sin. Allow me to live in newness of my life from now on. To Thee, my Lord, King, will be glory and dominion forever and ever. AMEN.
