Revelation 1:8 Devotional On THE ALL-SUFFICIENCY OF CHRIST

Daily Scripture Reading: Revelation 1:8 KJV

Revelation 1:8 KJV
(8)  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Today’s Devotional Is THE ALL-SUFFICIENCY OF CHRIST

It is not necessary to say that these letters are the first and final letters of the Greek alphabet. These letters represent all of the other letters that they contain as a golden clasp. This magnificent announcement is about the Eternal God. His Nature is the foundation of the entire created Universe, all races, all beings, the entire work for redemption, the destiny and victory of righteousness and peace of His children. “Of Him and through Him, all things are to Him, to Whom shall glory forever and ever. For a moment let us join the unending chant of Heaven and say: “Holy Holy, Holy Holy, Lord God Almighty which is and will be.” Without reverence and preparation, we must not rush to His presence.

Jesus Christ is the Complement to our Need. All the letters and words that will help us to overcome our weaknesses can be found in the alphabet of His Being. If we hadn’t been confronted with the infinite needs of ourselves and our condition, it is difficult to say if some of us would have ever learned the fullness of Jesus. Your guide may be in an Alpine village. But you will only realize all the qualities of him once you have crossed the glaciers and bridged the yawning valleys. As we walk alongside Jesus, we find the completeness of our needs in Him.

Jesus sees loneliness as an opportunity to be known as the Living One (Rev_1;17). If you feel like the Apostle on the Lord’s Day, in his lonely island, and you hear songs and prayers that you cannot join in spirit, then turn to the Lord and count on Him to keep you company. This is a claim upon Him! He is the One you can call upon. He will not heed thy cry or breathing. He will come near when thou callst upon Him and will say, “Fear not!” He will defend your soul, He will save your life. Polycarp’s grave is visible from the Smyrna harbour and coastline. But Jesus was there with Polycarp, enabling him faithfulness unto death and encircling him with the Crown of Life. Keep faithful even to death! The First and Last are with you! “Yeah, even though I walk through valley of shadow of death, my fear will not be because Thou art with Me!”

PRAYER for Today

You are the Alpha and Omega of all years, months, days, hours, and acts of my life, O Lord. All things will be started, continued, and finished in Thee. AMEN.
