The Bible has a lot to say about shame and disgrace. In fact, the book of Psalms is filled with references to shame and disgrace (see Psalm 44:15; 69:6; 119:31). The apostle Paul also wrote about shame and disgrace in his epistles (see 1 Timothy 3:7; Hebrews 12:2). 📖 So what does the Bible say about shame and disgrace? First, it is important to understand that shame and disgrace are not from God. They are a result of sin. Second, when we experience shame and disgrace, we can turn to God for help. He knows how to comfort us and give us strength to endure (see 2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
Shame is the feeling that you are bad and unworthy. Guilt is the feeling that you have done something bad. Regret is the feeling that you wish you had done something different. 🤫 Shame is the feeling that you are bad or defective as a person. Guilt is the feeling that you have done something bad or wrong. Regret is the feeling that you wish you had done something differently in the past. Shame usually motivates people to hide their shameful behavior from others, while guilt usually motivates people to make up for their bad behavior.
