1 Peter 4:19 Devotional On A FATHFUL CREATOR

Daily Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 4:19 KJV

1 Peter 4:19 KJV
(19)  Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Today’s Devotional Is A FATHFUL CREATOR

These words are more beautiful the more one thinks about them. The fact that God is faithful is evident as a noonday. He is faithful in the return and order of the seasons; faithful in holding back flood to ensure that it does not overwhelm the earth and destroy homes of people; faithful to all living creatures He created, providing their exact food. Christ saw the sparrow being thrown in by the dealer when His Mother purchased four more. He doesn’t let it fall to the ground, even the one that was. God is the faithful Creator in heavens and on earth. It is not surprising, therefore, that Holy Writ makes His faithfulness the main theme. But why does Peter emphasize His faithfulness as Creator when ministering to the particular circumstances of the suffering believers? This is the reason. It is easy to focus our attention on the Birth, Cross, Grave, Intercession of our Lord and forget that deep within the nature of God-the Almighty Creator–there is an ever-welling source of faithfulness, love and tenderness. The story of Redemption is our call to return to the infinite silence of Eternity when each thought was distinct in God’s mind. All of our members were included in His book, even though there is none.

It is possible to question whether we have realized our eternal purpose. However, everyone has the right to look in God’s face and say “Thine hands have made and fashioned me; give understanding that I may learn Thy commands.” God’s actions with us are not to be questioned. They are inexplicably right and wise. We may argue that He will make up for our shortcomings in some way. So, even if we are sad, we should still be joyful; though we are poor, we should make others rich; and, though we have nothing, spread our wealth as though we had all the things. Our lives should not be miserable. There’s no reason to not give generously to others. His grace should make us more than conquerors. This claim may be made humblely to the Almighty Creator. He will not allow His faithfulness fail!
