Hosea 6:3 Devotional On KNOWING AND FOLLOWING

Daily Scripture Reading: Hosea 6:3 KJV

Hosea 6:3 KJV
(3)  Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

Today’s Devotional Is KNOWING AND FOLLOWING

SOME PEOPLE DO NOT WANTED TO GET MORE INTO GOD’S HEALTH. They have never seen the heavenly vision. They believe religion is merely repeating the same prayers they’ve used for years and reading a portion of Scripture. While this is better than nothing they can’t draw a parallel between David and the hunted deer who pants for the water-brook or the blessing of our Lord for those who “hunger after righteousness.”

Others, however, long for more. They are pushing towards the mark like the Apostle, even though it seems to evade and recede. They look like the blind man on whom our Lord performed the miracle. He first saw people as trees walking, and was dimly aware of the beauty of perfect vision. But, then, as his dear hands touched him again he could see clearly. Who among us doesn’t long for clear vision and the knowledge of God? We must not give up on our quest. Let’s keep going! Once the last lesson has been learned, the deepest surrender made, the final act in faith is completed, the partition will be removed. We’ll know what Pascal meant when Pascal wrote: “The world has not known Thee but I have known Thee.” Joy! Joy! Joy! Tears of joy! “Now, we see through a window, dimly. But then we will face to face. Now I know in part; but then I will know as well as I am known. (1Co_13:12).

God has a way for each one of us. His going forth is as prepared as the morning, and He will come to us as the rain. Some people are struck by the sudden awareness and vision of the Eternal World. This is hidden behind the veil that covers their senses. Some people are so captivated by the love of Jesus as they eat the Bread and Wine of Community. A heavenly door could open at any moment, or we might suddenly see His face and shout with St. Paul, “The Lord is near!” We will see His hand calling to us and we will rise and follow Him into the world of reality, love, and hope that sometimes seems so far away.

PRAYER for Today

Jesus, Lord! We beg Thee to give us the second sight. We beg Thee to lift us by Thy strong hand, above the valley’s mists and darkness, so that we can walk with Thee on Thy high level of manifested presence, glory. AMEN.
