Today’s Devotional Is GOD’S GUIDING HAND IN OUR LIVES

Do you need help deciding what path to take? You can always see Jesus, even if it is partially obscured by mist. When it is lost, you must remain still until He returns to re-establish that blessed connection. Don’t look at impressions that often contradict each other. They are unstable fickleness and like eddies on a flowing stream; don’t seek guidance from friends, who may differ from you. Instead, look to Christ and give Him the responsibility to guide you. Tell Him that you will not move until He places His arms underneath you and takes you to where He wants you to. Don’t get worried or stressed. Place the government of your entire life on His shoulders and allow Him to carry out His plan.

Sometimes, He leads us to the restful green pastures and quiet waters. We are left to fulfill the commonplaces of our lives, happy for a few months or years, but receive great spiritual forces to serve others in the future. Sometimes we are led from lowland pastures to the hills. It is sunny with the precipitous cliffs above and below us. But this is all right; we wouldn’t always be walking or lying in the pastures. It’s great to reach the tops, with their distant view and crisp air.

The Shepherd might lead his flock into the valleys through the dark woods where the branches meet overhead. We know that He has the rod, club or crook to get us out of this hole. He wouldn’t lead us into a dark valley He hadn’t explored and which He wasn’t prepared to conquer. Not that darkness, sorrow, and death prove we are not following His lead, or that we have chosen the wrong path; rather, they show that He has made us capable of enduring the trials by faith in Him.

PRAYER for Today

Tell us, Lord, where Thou is leading Thy flock today, so that we can follow Thy path. We don’t ask Thee to go our way, but we do ask Thee to teach us Thine. AMEN.
